Innocent Elum Afen is a Counselling Psychologist who is currently finalizing his PhD in Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in Behavioral Addiction and Suicidal Tendencies. He earned his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Tangaza University College, then an affiliate of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Nairobi, Kenya. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the St. Joseph Theological Institute in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, as well as Certificates in Theology and African Studies. He has published several articles in international Journal and book Chapter Contribution.
Presently, he serves as a Lecturer at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi County, Kenya, where he teaches and mentors students in the field of psychology. In addition, he provides counseling services at the Institute of Spirituality and Religious Formation at Tangaza University and offers psychosocial support to young people in both Kenya and South Sudan.
Beyond his professional engagements, Innocent enjoys writing articles, singing, playing musical instruments (guitar, keyboard, and flute), as well as meditation, nature walks, tree planting, and traveling.
