Biography
Abraham Ameh Isaac is a scholar and education professional in Chemistry Education and Science Education, with over a decade of progressive experience spanning secondary education, teacher leadership, educational administration, and academic research. He is awaiting Ph.D. Chemistry Education at the University of Benin, with strong scholarly interests in educational technology integration, STEAM education, digital pedagogy, and teacher professional development. He holds a First Class B.Tech. in Chemistry Education from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University and an M.Ed. in Science Education from the National Open University of Nigeria, where he graduated with distinction. His academic trajectory reflects consistent excellence, intellectual rigor, and a sustained commitment to advancing science education practice and policy in Nigeria. Abraham has over ten years of teaching experience, having taught Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Basic Science across public and private secondary schools. He previously served as Head of Department (Sciences), where he supervised science teachers, coordinated curricula, and contributed to improved SSCE outcomes. His classroom practice is grounded in student-centered pedagogy, inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, and the effective use of digital tools and simulations. In addition to classroom teaching, he is an Education Officer in the Examination Department of the Edo State Ministry of Education, where he contributes to examinations data analysis, STEAM curriculum initiatives, and digital learning policy implementation. This role has strengthened his expertise in education systems management, assessment analytics, and evidence-based decision-making. Abraham is an active researcher with multiple peer-reviewed publications in reputable international and local journals. His research addresses pedagogical content knowledge, STEAM education, digital learning adoption, instructional strategies in chemistry, and education for sustainable development. He has several manuscripts currently under review in international journals, reflecting a growing and coherent research agenda aligned with global trends in science education reform. He has received extensive professional training and certifications, including TRCN certification, UNICEF Education Sector Analysis and Data Literacy, Commonwealth of Learning certifications in technology-enhanced science teaching, GIZ training in project-based learning, and SEPLAT Energy’s STEAM Education empowerment programme. These credentials underscore his capacity to translate theory into practice and to train other educators effectively. Abraham is a member of recognized professional bodies, including the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) and the International Teachers Association (ITA), and has been recognized as a Global Academic Member of My Knowledge Flow (MKF). He also engages in community service, mentoring pre-service teachers, facilitating digital literacy programmes, and supporting STEAM capacity-building initiatives in rural schools. Overall, Abraham Ameh Isaac is a highly motivated early-career academic and education professional with strong teaching competence, a growing international research profile, and practical experience in educational administration.
