Sanjana Yagnambhatt is a Senior Project Engineer in the Industrial Water practice at Brown and Caldwell, where she supports projects at the intersection of water treatment, energy optimization, and emerging industrial water challenges. She holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with doctoral research focused on improving the energy efficiency of desalination and osmotic power systems through advanced thermodynamic modeling, experimental validation, and control strategies. Previously, Sanjana served as a Research Manager at The Water Research Foundation, where she managed an $8M+ national research portfolio spanning desalination, water reuse, PFAS destruction, brine management, decarbonization, and workforce development. She regularly facilitated expert workshops, led research prioritization efforts, coordinated project advisory committees, and represented The Foundation in national technical forums. Sanjana is a published author in leading journals, an active peer reviewer, and a committed leader within professional organizations, including the Society of Women Engineers and NAWI.
