Jay Ronel V. Conejos is an Associate Professor I at the Institute of Animal Science, University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), specializing in animal nutrition and biotechnology, particularly in nutrigenomics and feed science. He holds a PhD in Animal Science and Technology (Major in Nutrigenomics) from Konkuk University, South Korea (2016–2020), an MS in Animal Science majoring in Animal Nutrition from UPLB (2005–2009), and a BS in Agriculture (Cum Laude) from UPLB (2000–2004), where he also ranked 8th in the 2006 Agriculture Board Examination. His academic work focuses on swine, poultry, and ruminant nutrition, as well as modern biotechnological applications in animal feed and nutrition.
He has an extensive research and academic service record, including teaching, graduate supervision, and leadership roles such as Associate Editor-in-Chief of the Philippine Journal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and membership in technical panels on biotechnology policy and commercialization. His research contributions span animal nutrition, amino acid supplementation, feed efficiency, and molecular nutrition in livestock, with publications in both refereed and international journals. He has received multiple national and international awards, fellowships, and research grants, including the Global Korea Scholarship and SEARCA Graduate Scholarship. He is also actively engaged in extension work, serving as a resource speaker and trainer in agriculture board reviews, scientific writeshops, and livestock production seminars across the Philippines.
