Dr. Blessing Ifeyinwa Tabugbo is a Lecturer I in the Department of Pure and Industrial Chemistry at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka. Her career at UNIZIK spans over a decade, beginning in 2011 as a laboratory assistant and evolving into her current substantive faculty role. She holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry from UNIZIK, building upon her foundational B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from Enugu State University of Science and Technology. Beyond classroom instruction and undergraduate class advisorship, Dr. Tabugbo is heavily involved in institutional governance, serving on the Faculty of Physical Sciences’ Maintenance and Repair Committee, the Departmental Welfare Committee, and as the Coordinator of the Dress Code Committee.Dr. Tabugbo is an active and widely published researcher whose primary interests lie in Analytical Chemistry, eco-toxicology, and environmental sustainability. Her prolific research footprint features extensive peer-reviewed evaluations of heavy metal contamination in marine life, risk assessments of water sediments across Nigerian river systems, and potential environmental health hazards like radon exposure in groundwater. A full member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN), and the Polymer Institute of Nigeria (PIN), Dr. Tabugbo frequently contributes to international chemistry workshops, computational chemistry forums, and webinars focusing on green materials.
