Maica Angelou Cunanan-Manuel is a Filipino educator, researcher, and academic leader specializing in English Language Education. She currently serves as an Associate Professor I at the College of Our Lady of Mercy of Pulilan Foundation, Inc., where she has continuously demonstrated excellence in teaching, leadership, and educational management.
She earned her Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English with a minor in Mandarin from Bulacan State University – Main Campus in 2018. Driven by her commitment to professional growth and academic excellence, she pursued graduate studies and completed her Master of Arts in Education major in English Language Education in the same university in 2024. Her academic achievements were further recognized through her participation in the Commission on Higher Education’s Scholarship for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (CHED-SIKAP) from 2021 to 2024. She is also a Licensed Professional Teacher, having passed the PRC Licensure Examination for Teachers in 2018.
Throughout her professional career, Ms. Manuel has built extensive experience in both classroom instruction and educational leadership. Since 2019, she has been teaching in higher education, handling various General Education courses. Simultaneously, she has served as an English Teacher in the Basic Education Department and, beginning in 2020, as School Principal of the Junior High School Department. Her leadership reflects her dedication to academic quality, student development, and institutional advancement.
In addition to her administrative and teaching responsibilities, Ms. Manuel is actively engaged in academic research. Her research interests focus on improving language learning experiences, exploring contemporary communication practices, and developing learner-centered approaches that enhance student engagement and academic performance. Through these academic publications, she continues to contribute meaningful insights to the fields of education and linguistics. With her passion for education, research, and leadership, Ms. Manuel continues to inspire learners and fellow educators through her commitment to academic excellence, innovative instruction, and lifelong learning.
