Dr. Surendra Kanikella is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the Centurion University of Technology and Management, Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. He earned his Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from Andhra University in 2024, where he previously graduated with a First Class with Distinction in his M.Sc. program. Dr. Kanikella possesses over eight years of academic and instructional experience, having served as a Guest Faculty member and a long-term Teaching Assistant within the Department of Nuclear Physics at Andhra University prior to his current faculty appointment. Throughout his teaching career, he has successfully delivered advanced curricula to undergraduate and postgraduate students, specializing in core physics competencies, structural characterization methodologies, and experimental laboratory mentorship. As an active researcher, Dr. Kanikella specializes in Materials Science, Vacuum Technology, and Nuclear/Radiation Physics, with a dedicated focus on the synthesis and characterization of Non-Evaporable Getter (NEG) materials for ultra-high vacuum (UHV) applications. His technical expertise spans advanced analytical techniques including XRD, FESEM/EDS, TEM, thermal analysis (TGA/DTG, DSC), and EDXRF spectroscopy. He has published over 15 research papers in prominent national and international peer-reviewed journals, including Elsevier’s Materials Today: Proceedings and Hybrid Advances, covering topics from lithium-ion battery anode modifications to environmental radiation risks. Demonstrating a strong commitment to multi-disciplinary innovation, Dr. Kanikella has also expanded his research into adaptive technological frameworks, holding three Indian patent applications filed in 2026 for AI-driven optimization, intelligent memory architecture, and adaptive biometric health monitoring systems.
