Biography
Dr. Santhosh Prabhu is an academic and legal researcher with a diverse body of scholarly publications covering contemporary issues in law, legal education, intellectual property rights, constitutional law, human rights, environmental law, gender justice, medical negligence, higher education, and socio-legal studies. His significant publications include “Ownership of Academic Patents: A Review of Policies and Practices,” published in Legal Opus (2015); “An Objective of New Education Policy to Revamp the Higher Education System,” published in KAAV International Journal of Law, Finance & Industrial Relations (2015); “Higher Education Institutions and Entrepreneurship – A Case of Manipal University,” published in the International Journal of Law and Social Sciences (2015); “Human Right Education and Developing Pedagogy Concerning Law Schools,” published in VBCL Law Review (2016); and “Error of Judgment and Vicarious Liability of the Hospitals in Case of Medical Negligence in India,” published in the Indian Journal of Public Health Research & Development (2018). His other scholarly contributions include research on domestic workers, employee turnover and organisational justice, Kashmir and international law, intellectual property rights and sports, indigenous peoples and intellectual property rights, student participation in academic research, professional ethics and cyber law, and constitutional and gender justice. More recent publications include “Constitution and Gender Justice: Judicial Interpretation with Reference to Indian Women” (2024), “Fashioning a Sustainable Future: Reshaping Consumer Choices, Industry Practices and the Law” (2024), “Risk to Responsibility: Corporate Environmental Liability in India” (2024, with S. Rai), “Commercialisation Vs. Protection in the Context of Geographical Indications (GIs)” (2025), “Integrating Academia & Practice – Strengthening Legal Education” (2025), “Beyond Dependency: Rethinking Alimony for New-Age Indian Marriages” (2025), “Citation as Method: Confronting Technical Inflexibility in Socio-Legal Scholarship” (2025), and “Hijras in India and the Global Discourse on Transgender Rights: Reconciling Tradition with Modern Human Rights Framework” (2025). He has also contributed chapters to edited volumes and academic publications, including works on child marriage, intellectual property rights, and quality enhancement in higher education. His scholarly engagement further extends to books and edited publications, including Legal Opus – Contemporary Legal Thoughts (2024), Legal Opus (2023), and Inside Office Minds: Power, Politics & Progress (2026). His publications demonstrate a sustained engagement with emerging legal issues and an interdisciplinary approach connecting law with society, education, governance, technology, business, human rights, and institutional development.
