Dr. Masud Alam is one of the senior most Statisticians under the Dept. of Agricultural Statistics in the faculty of Agricultural Economics and Business Studies, Sylhet Agricultural University. He obtained Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Master of Science (Thesis group) in Statistics from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in 2006 and 2008 respectively. He obtained PhD in Statistics (Specialized in Biostatistics) from the same university in 2020. Dr. Alam started his professional career as a Lecturer, at the Department of Agricultural Statistics in Sylhet Agricultural University in 2009 and promoted as Associate Professor in 2018. He was also worked as Lecturer in Universal College, Sylhet and as a Research Assistant in a project of FAO. He was a SPMT of the HEQEP sub-project CP#3621 and DSPM (Deputy Sub-Project Manager) of the HEQEP sub-project CPSF#3621 executed in the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Business Studies. He completed a research project as a Principal Investigator (PI). He also availed different administrative positions like Hall Provost, Assistant Hall Provost and others at Sylhet Agricultural University. He was the elected Treasurer of Executive Committee-2019, Teachers Association, Sylhet Agricultural University, Sylhet. He is a life member of Bangladesh Statistical Association, Bangladesh. More than 19 articles and 3 reports of his have already been published in different national and international journals. He has supervised or co-supervised a total of 14 MS Student. He is currently the Chairman of the Department of Agricultural Statistics, Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Business Studies, Sylhet Agricultural University since January, 24, 2020.
