Dr. Chris AC-Ogbonna is an accomplished academic and researcher with a rich educational background. He attended the prestigious Mary Knoll College Ogoja Cross River State and earned his B.Sc, M.Sc, and Ph.D. in Economics from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, University of Port Harcourt, and the University of Calabar, respectively, with a specialization in Economic Development. Additionally, he holds a postgraduate Advance Certificate in Education from Veritas University, Abuja, Nigeria. Currently serving as a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Economics, Veritas University, Abuja, Dr. AC-Ogbonna has dedicated a significant portion of his academic career to this institution. Beginning as an assistant lecturer in 2013, he has contributed extensively to the academic community, mentoring numerous scholars and supervising both master’s and Ph.D. students. His involvement in collaborative research includes projects with the Rivers Network of Non-Governmental Organizations, particularly the EU-ACT funded initiative in Rivers State, Nigeria. A prolific writer and an outstanding scholar, Dr. AC-Ogbonna has a keen interest in Development Economics, boasting over thirty-five academic articles published in reputable local and international journals, along with several book chapters. He has also reviewed more than ten articles for high WOS impact factor journals, serves on the editorial board of an international journal, and has participated as a panel member in international conferences. Beyond his academic pursuits, Dr. AC-Ogbonna has accumulated extensive experience in university administration. He has actively served on various university committees and presently holds the position of Faculty of Social Sciences Postgraduate Coordinator. His involvement extends to being an Associate Research Fellow at African Heritage Institutions Nigeria, a Fellow at the Africa Science Leadership Program of the Future Africa Institute, University of Pretoria, South Africa, and a member of the Directorate of Research and International Linkages at Veritas University Abuja. He is also a member of the Nigeria Economic Society, the National Association for Energy Economics, and the West African Green Economics Development Institute. Dr. AC-Ogbonna’s professional journey includes prior work experience at BusinessDay Media Ltd, Lagos, and his diverse interests range from surfing the net to engaging in educational research, playing football, and swimming.
