Dr. Franca Chinenye Nwankwo is an accomplished academic in Industrial and Technology Education. She obtained her first Ph.D and Master’s degree in Industrial and Technology Education (Woodwork Technology) from the Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria, and her Bachelor’s degree from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University. Currently, she is pursuing another Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at Morgan State University, USA.
Since 2016, she has been a Lecturer II at the Federal University of Technology Minna, engaging in teaching, developing course outlines, supervising projects, and conducting research. Previously, she served as the University Taekwondo Coach at Federal University of Technology Minna from 2012-2016. She also served as a Graduate Assistant Lecturer at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi during her National Youth Service Corps.
Dr. Nwankwo has written publications, mainly focusing on sustainable development in technology education, wood waste management, and current issues in education administration. Her research interests also encompass the role of technology education in industrial practices and fostering academic motivation and socio-cultural development.
Her diverse skill set includes teaching, mentoring, research, safety training, workshop management, curriculum development, and educational technology. She is skilled in music direction and sports coaching as well. She is 1st Dan Black Belt Holder in Taekwondo from World Taekwondo Federation (KUKKIWON). She is the founder, and the music Director of the famous Francescan Chorale in Nigeria. Recognized for her academic excellence, Dr. Nwankwo has received scholarship awards and participated in empowerment programs like the African Young Entrepreneur Empowering Nigeria. Her hobbies include Taekwondo, Chess, Scrabble, and a deep-rooted passion for music and the arts
