Dr. Lincoln Valmorida Tan is a seasoned educator, cultural scholar, and academic leader with over 32 years of service in Philippine education. Currently the Vice President for Culture, Arts, Sports, and Student Services at Bukidnon State University, he also serves as University Tourism Officer for both Malaybalay City and the Province of Bukidnon. A graduate of Central Mindanao University (Ph.D. in Educational Administration), he also holds master’s degrees in Educational Administration and Cultural Education, alongside a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. His career began as a multi-grade teacher, shaping his lifelong commitment to inclusive education, student welfare, and curriculum innovation.
Dr. Tan is a recognized authority in cultural education, indigenous dance, and heritage-based leadership. He has led significant initiatives such as Ed Sayaw, a values-based dance clinic for indigenous youth, and has conducted extensive research on indigenous musicality, mental health in education, and cultural identity. With past roles including Associate Dean, Performing Arts Chairperson, and University Dance Troupe Director, he continues to advocate for cultural preservation and student empowerment. His credentials also include certifications from Harvard, Michigan, and Maryland universities, and he remains active in national organizations such as PASUC, NCAF, and the Philippine Folkdance Society.
