Dr. Daniel A. Otwori Holds a PhD in Applied psychology , Community Heath &Development. He is a seasoned scholar, researcher, and community health practitioner with over 24 years of experience in higher education, research, and program leadership across Kenya and the East African region. His research philosophy is grounded in the belief that sustainable health systems emerge from community-driven innovation, digital transformation, and integrated mental health interventions.
His scholarly work sits at the intersection of digital health, psychology, and community development, addressing the structural and behavioral determinants of health and well-being in low- and middle-income contexts. Dr. Otwori combines academic leadership with applied research, bridging theory and practice through field-based interventions, NGO capacity-building, and multi-sectoral partnerships.
He has authored 18 peer-reviewed journal articles and co-authored two academic books, contributing significantly to the fields of community health, counseling psychology, and health systems development.
Dr. Otwori currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Management University of Africa (MUA) and an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of East Africa Baraton (UEAB), the Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK), and Rongo University. He is also a Consultant and Program Leader in Health Sciences at Tangaza University College, a Research Fellow at the University of Bosaso (Somalia),Executive CEO Daflay Global Education Consulting Services -Kenya. and the Kenya Country Representative for Brush For Life International (BFL).
His research expertise spans digital health and artificial intelligence in community health, mental health integration, non-communicable diseases, health systems policy, maternal and child health, and health workforce training.
