Dr. Kathula is the immediate former Ag. Registrar Academics and Students Affairs at the Management University of Africa (MUA) where she currently works as Senior Lecturer/ Academic Leader Education/Competency -Based Education Team Leader in the school of management and leadership. She is a member of Association of Academic Registrars of Universities in Kenya (AARUK); the Kenya Universities Quality Assurance Network (KUQAN) and Full member Kenya Institute of Management (MKIM). She is a Resource consultant with Kenya National Qualification Authority (KNQA) and Peer Reviewer Teacher Education Programme with Commission for University Education(CUE). Stakeholder for TVETA programmes and standards Accreditation. She brings a wealth of experience in Educational Administration and planning and as a member of the team that steered setting up of Management University of Africa (MUA) sponsored by Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and actualization of Kisaju Main Campus. She brings a wealth of experience in Educational Administration, Management, Governance, Leadership, Quality Assurance and Planning. Mentor and guest speaker: Equity Bank Leadership programme; Catholic parish schools; The East African University Conference; BJB Autonomous College Conference India; Lusaka, Zambia on The African Higher Education Quality Assurance Accreditation Conference; Nairobi, Kenya on The African Higher Education Quality Assurance, on her coaching, mentorship and research roles. She is a Professional Expert in Examination Management and trained examiner with Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC). In the year 2017 she was applauded by Commission for University (CUE) Audit done February 2017 which recommended the Best Practice for Examinations in the University under her watch. Year 2023 was Awarded the best faculty at MUA using balanced Score Card. She has published widely over 34 research papers in high impact peer reviewed journals and participates in research scientific conferences annually for paper dissemination. Dr. Kathula is international reviewer and editor with the International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Science (IJRISS), Research and scientific innovation society (RSIS) Journals, Asian Research Journal of Agriculture(ARJA) and; International Journal of Management and Leadership Studies (IJMLS) of The Management University of Africa. One among her research project “Kitchen Gardening for women and youth empowerment by institutions” won SIDA/WIPO international sponsorship training and support. Current invite to Ghana she presented five papers , four with her supervised student as international exposure to them. Her current published research paper titled: Political staff promotion, Vice chancellors role and performance of private Universities in Kenya ; “Teenage Dental Alignment, Self-Esteem, Parental Stress and Performance in Schools in Kenya: A Case Study of Dentplan Dental Surgeons” under the contemporary issues in education has attracted the highest readership. She is currently publishing a paper titled: Innovative and Cost Effective Water Harvesting and Value Addition in Agriculture for Sustainability: Case Study of Kitui and Wajir Counties, Kenya. Dr. Kathula was invited to Kenya National Research Fund(KNRF) Festival Award on 23RD August 2024, having been nominated by the Management University of Africa under the category of Woman Researcher. She has supervised four PhD students to completion impacted in the academic globe.
