Reviewer Responsibilities
As a peer reviewer, your role is essential in maintaining the integrity, quality, and accuracy of academic publications. Here are the key responsibilities you will uphold as a reviewer with RSIS Journals:

Provide Constructive and Timely Feedback

Your feedback should be clear, respectful, and aimed at helping authors improve their work. Offer specific, actionable suggestions to strengthen the manuscript’s content, structure, methodology, and clarity. Timely reviews are critical to our publication schedule, so we appreciate your commitment to meeting deadlines.

Maintain Confidentiality

All manuscripts and their content are confidential. You must not discuss, share, or use any of the information from the manuscript for personal or professional gain. Your ethical duty is to protect the integrity of the research and respect the confidentiality of the authors’ work.

Disclose Conflicts of Interest

If you have any potential conflicts of interest (such as relationships with authors or competing research), please disclose them immediately to the editorial team. This ensures that your feedback remains impartial and unbiased, maintaining the credibility of the peer review process.

Evaluate Objectively and Fairly

Assess the manuscript’s content objectively, without personal bias or favoritism. Your evaluation should be based solely on the quality of the work, the validity of the research, and its relevance to the field. Upholding impartiality is key to the fairness and trustworthiness of academic publishing.

Verify Research Accuracy and Relevance

Reviewers are responsible for evaluating the rigor and accuracy of the research, including the validity of the methodology, clarity of results, and soundness of conclusions. Consider whether the research contributes meaningfully to the field and if any improvements can increase its impact.

Avoid Personal Criticism

While reviewing, focus on the work and not on the author. Critique ideas and arguments rather than personal attributes, ensuring that your comments are professional and respectful. Constructive feedback enhances authors’ motivation to improve and fosters a collaborative spirit in the academic community.

Uphold Ethical Standards in Research

Ensure that the research complies with ethical standards, including proper citation practices, ethical treatment of subjects, and transparency in data handling. If you observe any ethical concerns, such as plagiarism or data manipulation, report them to the editorial team for further investigation.

Commit to Continuous Improvement

Engage actively in the review process with a commitment to ongoing learning and improvement. Peer reviewing is an opportunity to refine your own skills as you help authors improve their work. Embrace the process as a way to contribute to and grow within the academic community.
By adhering to these responsibilities, you play a pivotal role in supporting high-quality research and upholding the standards of academic excellence. RSIS Journals appreciates your dedication to ethical and professional reviewing practices.
