Cllr Arthur T. Johnson is the Dean of the Graduate School of Criminal Justice Administration, AME Zion University, in Liberia, West Africa. He was born to Saah and Kumba Johnson in Lofa County. He was born in Bomi County, Liberia, on February 19, 1972.
With over 25 years of experience in legal practice, education, and national security, Cllr Johnson is a respected criminal lawyer and professor. He is a notable Liberian legal and academic figure known for his comprehensive approach to theory and practice.
He is a Counsellor-at-Law for the Honourable Supreme Court of Liberia Bar, the highest rank in Liberian legal jurisprudence, and an Assistant Professor of Law at the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law, University of Liberia, where he teaches Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law and mentors aspiring lawyers. He is a former dean and professor at A.M.E. Zion University’s Wilfred E. Clarke College of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Administration. In addition to teaching Criminal Investigation, Criminology, Constitutional Law, and Law Enforcement Administration, he serves as Dean of the Graduate School of Criminal Justice Administration at AME Zion University. Cllr Johnson is the CEO and senior legal consultant of the Consortium of Legal Practitioners Incorporated.
Cllr. Johnson worked as a special agent, deputy director for administration of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), chief of security, and security consultant for the former Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Liberia and some international agencies for decades. His security consultant and technical advisor skills have made him a security policy and administration specialist. He is an international criminal lawyer and certified counsel listed on the List of Counsels for the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT)—The Mechanism.
