Dr. Chidiadi Maryann Njoku is a Nigerian academic and clinical laboratory scientist serving as a Senior Lecturer in Chemical Pathology in the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nnewi Campus, Nigeria. She holds a PhD and M.Sc. in Chemical Pathology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science from Imo State University. Her academic and professional career combines extensive experience in chemical pathology, medical laboratory science, clinical biochemistry, and biomedical research. Before joining the academic faculty, she served in various professional laboratory positions at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and its teaching hospital. She has also undertaken specialized training in molecular diagnosis, laboratory quality assurance, clinical and laboratory diagnostics, COVID-19 testing, emerging laboratory technologies, cardiac biomarkers, metabolomics, pediatric laboratory medicine, and the application of artificial intelligence in clinical laboratories. She has served as Unit Head of the Chemical Pathology Department Laboratory Unit and has contributed to university administration, professional scientific organizations, conferences, and academic activities.Dr. Njoku’s research focuses primarily on Chemical Pathology, Clinical Chemistry, Reproductive Endocrinology, Mineral Metabolism, Metabolic Disorders, and Disease Epidemiology. Her extensive publication record covers reproductive and fertility-related biomarkers, polycystic ovarian syndrome, ovarian function, trace elements and micronutrients, oxidative stress, lipid metabolism, diabetes, cardiovascular risk, liver and renal function, hematological parameters, infectious diseases, environmental and toxicological biomarkers, and the effects of physical activity and dietary interventions on biochemical health indicators. She has presented research at national and international scientific conferences, including major International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) and Asia-Pacific Federation for Clinical Biochemistry (APFCB) meetings, and has received an IFCC Roche Travel Scholarship. Her interdisciplinary research integrates clinical laboratory medicine with endocrinology, nutrition, epidemiology, women’s health, metabolic disease, and biomedical sciences.
