Dr. Chukwuebuka Chukwuezugolum Onwuzuligbo is an accomplished academician, registered pharmacist, and Lecturer I in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Traditional Medicine at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Nigeria. He holds a unique interdisciplinary academic foundation, starting with a B.Sc. in Microbiology from Ahmadu Bello University, followed by a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He went on to specialize deeply in natural products research, earning both his Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) and a Ph.D. in Phytopharmacology from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. A full member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) since 2011, Dr. Ogbue has heavily contributed to university governance and operational excellence. He has served in critical administrative capacities, including Departmental Examination Officer, Departmental ICT Officer, and long-standing member of the Faculty Induction and Student Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) committees. He also provides strategic administrative leadership as Chairman of the Faculty Environmental Conservation and Beautification Committee.Dr. Ogbue’s research portfolio sits at the advanced frontier of phytopharmacology, focusing on the therapeutic standardization, safety profiles, and mechanisms of indigenous medicinal plants. His prolific scholarly output is extensively published in peer-reviewed global platforms, capturing specialized investigations into the gastroprotective, anti-inflammatory, anti-anemic, and wound-healing properties of diverse plant extracts. Notably, his work includes highly regarded evaluations of the immunomodulatory and oxidative stress-attenuating properties of Musanga cecropioides, alongside the formulation of novel combination therapies pairing plant extracts with honey to combat gastric ulcers.
