Dr. Daniel Chiyama Phiri is a distinguished scholar, administrator, and ordained minister whose work spans academia, research, and Christian ministry. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Sociology, which has shaped his extensive roles as a lecturer, researcher, and leader in higher education. Dr. Phiri began his academic career as a lecturer and researcher, contributing to teaching, mentorship, and scholarly investigations. His leadership skills eventually led him to senior administrative roles, including serving as Registrar and currently as Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research & Innovation. In these positions, he has improved the institution’s research environment, innovation structures, and academic governance. Alongside his academic duties, Dr. Phiri is an ordained minister, counsellor, reviewer, and research mentor.
