Dr. Destaings Nyenyi Nyongesa is an economist, researcher, and academic leader with extensive experience in higher education, policy analysis, and consultancy. He holds a PhD and a Master of Arts in Economics and has served as a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at Maseno University, where he also held leadership positions as Dean of the School of Business and Economics and Chairman of the Department of Economics. Dr. Nyongesa has expertise in research, innovation, and project management, with a strong background in econometric analysis, public finance, and development economics. He has led and participated in numerous high-impact consultancies, including studies on labor market information, economic feasibility, energy regulation, and environmental impact assessments. His research focuses on econometrics, environmental economics, economic development, taxation, public policy,sustainable infrastructure financing, microeconomics and macroeconomics. Currently, Dr. Nyongesa serves as the Head of Research and Innovation at Pan Africa Tourism and Hospitability Research Institute – Boma International Hospitality College (BIHC). He has been a member of the Competition Tribunal of Kenya and has contributed to strengthening governance through his role in the Audit Committee for the County Assembly of Bungoma. Dr. Nyongesa is proficient in statistical and econometric data analysis using STATA, SPSS, EViews, Minitab, and programming with Python and R. His commitment to academic excellence, research integrity, and evidence-based policy formulation makes him a valuable reviewer for academic and policy-oriented journals.
