Dr. Fatahyah Yahya is a Qualified Counsellor. She has registered her license to practice under the Malaysian Counselling Board (KB00270, PA 166). She obtained a PhD in Counselling Psychology, a master’s degree in Counselling from the University of Malaya and a Bachelor of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (minor in Communications) from International Islamic University Malaysia. As a teaching academic at the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development, she has an extensive record in Teaching and Supervision. Most of my work focus on Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy.
She has more than 17 years of teaching in Counselling and Psychology Courses for the Undergraduate Programme. She has been teaching the Master of Science Counselling programme since its inception in 2016. She
has been involved in more than 17 years of Supervision Experience of the Final Year Project, Practicum, and Internship for Counselling, both at undergraduate and Masters level. To date, she has graduated ONE (1)
PhD student from UPM as an external supervisor, and TEN (10) MSc Counselling by Course Work students from UNIMAS.
She has conducted various research projects, big and small. Her completed grants collaborated with other university scholars, and the rest were Fundamental Research Grant (FRGS), Short Grant Scheme (SGS),
and Research Acculturation Collaborative Effort (RACE). She has produced a range of journal papers, which are either Scopus Indexed or Peer-Reviewed, mostly as the main author in the field of her expertise. She has presented at multiple conferences as well, where the papers are published in Conference Proceedings & Poster Presentations.
