Summary Prof (Hon) Dr. Godwin Ayittey, a dedicated Health Service Administrator, excels in hospital management, research, and community service. He holds advanced degrees, including a Doctorate in Hospital Administration. His tenure at Todah Hospital improved operational efficiency, and his community outreach established 16 healthcare centers, benefiting underserved regions in Ghana. Educational Background Prof. (Hon.) Dr. Godwin Ayittey began his formal education at Adandi Kyerembabi Primary School (1980–1986) and continued at Nana Owusu Sempah Junior Secondary School (1987–1990). He subsequently enrolled at Dompoase Senior Secondary School (1990–1993), where he pursued Science and successfully obtained the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) as a member of the first batch of the Senior Secondary School system in Ghana. In 1997, he entered Sefwi Wiawso College of Education, where he trained as a professional teacher and graduated in 2000 with a Certificate in Education (Mathematics). Building on this foundation, he advanced his studies in business and management. In 2005, he gained admission to Christian Service University College, Kumasi, and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing). Community Development: In 2015, Prof. (Dr.) Godwin Ayittey demonstrated visionary leadership and resilience when his brother, Pastor David Ayittey, approached him after receiving redundancy benefits to seek guidance on a sustainable venture. Recognizing the healthcare needs of the community, Prof. (Dr.) Ayittey proposed the establishment of a medical facility and was entrusted to spearhead the entire process. With remarkable determination, he converted his brother’s residence into a healthcare center, undertaking the necessary architectural demarcations to suit a clinical environment. Within just two months, he successfully obtained certifications from the Registrar General’s Department, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Ghana National Fire Service. His efforts culminated in securing Health Facilities and Regulatory Agency (HeFRA) certification, and by June 2015, the clinic was duly assessed and accredited for operation. On October 8, 2015, Prof. (Dr.) Ayittey officially commissioned the facility, marking its entry into healthcare delivery. Continuing his pursuit of growth, he obtained National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) accreditation in June 2016, ensuring that healthcare services became more accessible to the public. His leadership saw the clinic’s rapid elevation to hospital status in November 2016. By March 2017, he successfully integrated the hospital into the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) through the Church of God. Between 2016 and 2019, Prof. (Dr.) Ayittey expanded healthcare accessibility by establishing sixteen (16) outreach centers in hard-to-reach communities.
