Hakim Abdallah is a distinguished academic, development planner, and certified Project Management Professional (PMP), with a wealth of experience spanning academia, public service, and the private sector. He holds a PhD in Endogenous Development from the University for Development Studies, an MSc in Development Policy and Planning, and a BSc (Honours) in Planning, both from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He is currently done with an MBA (Generic) course at Accra Business School (Affiliated to KNUST) and awaiting his thesis defence.
With over a decade of teaching experience at institutions such as the Institute of Local Government Studies and Technical University College of Tamale, Abdallah has significantly contributed to curriculum development, academic mentoring, and the teaching of courses in planning, decentralisation, project appraisal, and research methods. His research focuses on endogenous knowledge systems, poverty reduction, local governance, and sustainable development, areas in which he has published widely in peer-reviewed journals.
In the professional sphere, Dr Abdallah has held key positions, including District Development Planning Officer at the Chereponi District Assembly and Assistant Director I at the Ghana Education Service. He currently serves as Operations Manager, Mpohor Site, and Fuel & Lubes Manager, Damang Site, both at Engineers & Planners Company Ltd., and is the Founder and Team Leader of Mines Driving Services, a transport and logistics firm supporting Ghana’s mining sector.
Dr Abdallah is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Ghana Institute of Planning (GIP), and the Commonwealth Association of Planners (CAP). He is widely recognised for his ability to integrate indigenous knowledge with strategic development planning to promote inclusive, locally grounded solutions and institutional effectiveness.
