Dr. Helen Efeyadu Uzoekwe hails from Umuonye-aka Ifite Oraifite in Ekwusigo local government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria from the family of Late Mr. and Mrs. Odigboana Uzoekwe. She is a Reader in the Department of Guidance and Counselling at Nnamdi Azikiwe university in Awka, Nigeria. She has published more than 64 journal articles in different reputable Journals both national and International. Her research focuses on guidance and counselling, with specific interests in emotional intelligence, conflict management, and counselling strategies for various issues including spousal abuse and youth restiveness. Some of her notable works include: Emotional Intelligence: practices to manage and develop it, published in the European Journal of Theoretical and Applied Sciences, Conflict Management: Conflict management between parents and children, highlighting the role of counselling in the Journal of the Department of Guidance and Counselling, Spousal abuse: Causes, consequences, and counselling strategies in reducing spousal abuse in Anambra state published in the International Journal of Innovation, Research and Advanced Studies. She has also co-authored publications on topics such as: counselling strategies for reducing youth restiveness and substance abuse among secondary school students, Classroom Management strategies to help children with Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) succeed in school, Moral decadence: implications of moral decadence on academic performance among students in tertiary institutions.
She is a member of professional organizations including the Counselling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), ASUU and a member, a Fellow and an Ambassador of Pan-African Educationists and has participated in various workshops and conferences related to guidance and counselling and education.
