Dr. Jereco Jims J. Agapito, REE Assistant Professor II | Head of Research and Development Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc City Campus Dr. Jereco Jims J. Agapito is a licensed Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) and an esteemed faculty member at Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Ormoc City Campus, where he currently serves as Assistant Professor II and Head of the Research and Development Office. With a Doctor of Management and a Master of Science in Management Engineering, he brings a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic leadership to both academic and community-focused projects. Dr. Agapito has led and participated in numerous research initiatives that address regional development needs, including projects funded by the Department of Health (DOH), Eastern Visayas Health Research and Development Consortium (EVHRDC), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). His research interests span power systems analysis, solar PV integration, energy management, ICT competency in healthcare, and educational equity among state universities and colleges in Region VIII. Notably, he has guided engineering studies such as the five-year development plan for solar PV integration and electrical system upgrade at EVSU Luna Campus, ensuring alignment with LUDIP 2030 goals. He also advocates for practical community innovations, such as coin-activated energy-saving devices, aiming to improve both energy awareness and livelihood in underserved areas. A passionate educator, Dr. Agapito mentors student researchers and promotes a culture of innovation and ethics in research. He is actively involved in regional collaborations, ethics board compliance, and capacity-building activities, making him a key contributor to the university’s mission of excellence in instruction, research, and community service.
