Dr. N. KUMAR completed M.A, M.Phil, PhD in Economics and MBA in Human Resource Management from Bharathidasan University, Trichy, India. He is currently working as Assistant Professor in Faculty of Management, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur Campus, Chennai, India. He has more than 15 years of research and academic experience.
He worked with reputed Research and Academic institutions like Junior Research Fellow in Department of Animal Husbandry Economics, Madras Veterinary College, Chennai [2004-2006], Project Manager in Human Mirror Trust, Kolli Hills [Mar 2006 – Nov 2006], Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow and Scientist – Social Sciences in M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation [Nov 2006 to June 2019] and Assistant Professor in School of Management Studies, Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai [July 2019 – April 2022].
He is qualified in State Eligibility Test for Assistant Professor (SET) examination and received JRF and SRF Fellowship from University Grant Commission, Government of India for his PhD study. He also received ‘Netherlands Fellowship Programme’ for short duration course on Community Biodiversity Management, ‘National Virtual Academy Fellow Award’ by jointly TATA national virtual academy, IGNOU and M.S.Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), ‘Emerging Scientist Award’ by VDGOOD Professional Association, India and ‘Best Research Young Scientist Award’ by Association of Scientists, Developers and Faculties (ASDF).
He has been served as member in various committees such as Grass Root Institution (GRI), Gender Integration and Mainstreaming (GIM) and Fund Mobilizing Committee in MSSRF and Member in Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology.
During his research & development and academic tenure with various organizations, has engaged various research and development projects which are funded by International and National funding Agencies such as FAO, IFPRI, IFAD, IDRC, Bioversity International, SDC, NABARD, IIMR, ICAR and Tamil Nadu AIDS Control Society.
He has undertaken various Socio-economic studies in Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh states. He was involved in “Global Study on Community Biodiversity Management” which is conducted in four continents (India and Nepal of Asia, Ethiopia of Africa, Brazil of South America and The Netherlands of Europe) hosted by Wageningen University and Research Centre, The Netherlands.
He has participated in many training, conferences and workshops across India and published around 30 research studies/articles related to Economics, Management, agriculture and rural development in reputed journals/books/reports.
