His professional experience also includes serving as a Program Officer under the Ministry of Health, where he contributed to national COVID-19 vaccine uptake strategies, stakeholder coordination, and strengthening health information systems. Earlier, he supported TB/HIV surveillance and monitoring systems under Kenya’s National Tuberculosis Program, gaining critical experience in program implementation and evaluation . Dr. Magoba is actively engaged in global scientific discourse as a peer reviewer for multiple international journals, including PLOS Global Public Health and Critical Care Medicine. Through these roles, he contributes to maintaining scientific rigor, improving research quality, and supporting editorial decision-making processes. His scholarly work includes publications on TB diagnostic delays and the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19, with additional manuscripts under review. His core competencies span disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, monitoring and evaluation, health systems strengthening, and grant writing. He has also undertaken advanced professional training through global institutions including the World Health Organization and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, further strengthening his expertise in epidemiology and public health practice. Dr. Magoba is a member of several professional bodies, including the Respiratory Society of Kenya, the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), and the African Public Health Association.
