Dr. Chabu Martin (Ph.D), is a committed and accomplished educator with a passion for advancing education and research in the fields of History and Social Sciences. Born on September 3rd, 1979, in Chipata, Zambia, Dr. Martin has demonstrated a commitment to enriching the learning experiences of students across various levels. As a male professional in the academic sphere, Dr. Martin has made significant contributions to the field and continues to inspire his students with his expertise. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Rusangu University, Monze, Zambia, and his master’s and doctorate degrees from Zambian Open University, Lusaka, Zambia. He also has post graduate Diploma in Educational Planning and Administration from National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration, New Delhi, India.
With a Ph.D. in History, Dr. Martin brings a wealth of knowledge and academic rigor to his teaching endeavours. He is proud of his Zambian nationality and remains an active advocate for educational growth within his nation.
Dr. Martin’s journey in education has been characterized by continuous growth and dedication. His current affiliation is with the David Livingstone College of Education, where he holds the esteemed position of Senior Lecturer in History and Social Studies. Since 2018, he has effectively utilized diverse teaching methodologies, presentations, and class activities to ensure the transfer of relevant skills and knowledge. His earlier roles include serving as a Secondary Subject Teacher at Jersey Day Secondary School in Katete District from 2014 to 2018, and as a Senior Teacher at Mwaziputa Primary in Katete from 2011 to 2014. Dr. Martin began his educational journey as a Primary School Teacher in several institutions, including Nyaluwiro Primary, Mzime Primary, and Chimbundire Primary in Katete. His dedication extended beyond the classroom, where he took on responsibilities such as District Trainer for SITE from 2006 to 2008 and Zone Insert Coordinator from 2008 to 2011.
In his current role, Dr. Martin meticulously designs instruction plans to cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring maximum student comprehension. He goes beyond traditional classroom settings, engaging students through discussions, small group sessions, and modern communication platforms like Zoom and Google Meet.
