Dr. Mohinder Kumar Slariya is currently working as Principal in the department of Higher Education, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and posted at Govt. Degree Salooni, Chamba Himachal Pradesh. Earlier, he worked as Associate Professor of Sociology in the Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and presently posted at Govt. College, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. He is serving the department since 1997. He has completed Post-doctoral task from Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Geology and Geography, University of Turku, Finland sponsored by Finnish Science Academy in 2015. He has also facilitated and guided post-doctoral fellow, doctoral and master students of Finnish Science Academy as fellow of the academy. His major research interests are human dimensions of development, environment, climate change, food security, tribal studies and moreover to make sociology most acceptable and objective science of society. Dr. Slariya acted as co-guide of doctoral student from the Department of Cultural Anthropology, University of Belgium, with MoU based research collaborations with Asia Climate Education Centre, Jeju, South Korea and Govt. College, Chamba for three years (2015-2018) and worked as an international team in research project at Jeju, South Korea. He also facilitated World Bank on RR Issues in developmental projects and JICA project in Himachal Pradesh. He has participated in 14 international conferences abroad 30 national and international conferences/seminars in India and contributed in different capacities from present, session chair, session organiser and panellist in USA. He has been one of the Indian delegates in 2nd Indo-German Conference on Sustainability in Germany and also sponsored delegate in 13th International River Symposium held at Perth, Australia invited by Ministry of Water Resources and also panellist in Pokhara (Nepal) on Environmental Issues in Himalayas. He published more than 22 research papers in different national and international research journals, published 70 books (50 National and 20 international from Germany and USA) including syllabus books from +1 to master (Sociology); organized 4 conferences, participated as resource persons in 22 conferences, presented 20 papers published 8 chapters, organized 4 international lectures and competed 3 UGC sponsored research projects and 3 international projects abroad. Presently working as reviewer of national (2) and international research journals (4) like; International Sociology, International Journal of Sociology and Social Anthropology etc. and at present a website dedicated to the students/leaners of sociology https://buddingsociologist.in/ has been prepared and working very good place where one can find almost all topics related to sociology in detail. Dr. Slariya, is founding General Secretary of Sociological Society, Himachal Pradesh, has been General Secretary of North-west Indian Sociological Association-2018-2020 (NIWSA), life member of International Sociological Association (WG-05; RC-25; TG-03), Indian Sociological Society (RC-11 and RC 21), also has been General Secretary North Western Indian Sociological Association (2018-2020), Social Science and Humanities Association, Sociological Society, Himachal Pradesh, IUCN, World Commission of dams etc.
