Dr. Muhammad Musa Yankara is a Lecturer I in the Department of Hausa at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, Nigeria, where he has served since 2018 and specializes in Hausa Literature. He holds a PhD in Hausa Literature from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, completed in 2026 with Distinction, as well as an M.A. in Hausa Studies (2019) and a B.A. in Hausa (2013). His academic and teaching experience spans Hausa literature, oral literature, poetry, folklore, orthography, and the study of Hausa language and culture.His research interests and scholarly contributions focus particularly on Hausa poetry, oral literature, literary criticism, Hausa culture, security issues as represented in literature, and contemporary developments in Hausa studies. He has published numerous articles in national and peer-reviewed journals and contributed to conference proceedings and scholarly books. He has also presented research at national and international conferences on Hausa poetry, folklore, cultural preservation, security, political criticism, women’s contributions to Hausa society, and Hausa literature in the digital era. Alongside his research and teaching responsibilities, he has held several academic and administrative positions, including Departmental PG Coordinator, Acting Examination Officer, Quality Assurance Committee Member, Seminar and Publication Committee Member, and Secretary of TASKAR WAƘOƘI Journal of Hausa Poetry Studies.
