Dr. Nathaniel Atansuyi is an accomplished computer scientist, data engineer, and academic leader currently serving as a Faculty Lecturer and the Coordinator of the Computer Science Department at Hallmark University in Ogun State, Nigeria. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Physics Electronics from the University of Lagos, a Post Graduate Diploma and a Master of Information Technology (MIT), and earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence from Babcock University. Dr. Atansuyi’s cutting-edge doctoral research pioneered hybrid deep learning architectures (CNN-LSTM) optimized via metaheuristics like the Hippopotamus Optimization Algorithm (HOA) for advanced gait recognition. His current research operates at the intersection of computer vision, human motion analysis, and autoregressive transformer models (such as BERT-style encoders and GPT-style frameworks) applied to biometric security and automated health diagnostics.
Paralleling his academic career, Dr. Atansuyi brings over three decades of robust corporate leadership, driving digital transformation, data governance, and cybersecurity strategies as the former Head of IT at LTC-JWT Nigeria, Principal IT Manager at Chellarams Plc, and Lead Data Engineer for Durotimi AI’s early cancer detection validation systems. He holds elite global industry credentials, including the (ISC)² Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) designations. A prolific author and public speaker, he has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) literature, and served as an expert panelist for the Nigeria Computer Society. Dr. Atansuyi is a Chartered Member of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (C.itp), a Fellow and Governing Council Member of the Institute of Information Management – Africa, and a recipient of multiple distinctions, including the prestigious National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Honours Award.
