Environmental Science and Sustainability Instructor
Dr. Nitasha Vig is a dedicated environmental scientist and educator with over five years of expertise in researching environmental pollution and its impact on public health. She earned her PhD from Panjab University, Chandigarh, focusing on the environmental impact assessment of coal thermal power plants and their associated health risks. Her extensive academic journey also includes an MSc in Environmental Science, a BSc in Microbiology, B.Ed in Life Sciences and a Diploma in Medical Lab Technology with Honors.
As an educator, Dr. Vig is currently imparting knowledge as a sessional instructor in Environmental Science and Sustainable Design in Canada. Her teaching emphasizes translating complex environmental concepts into accessible lessons, inspiring the next generation of environmental scientists.
Dr. Vig has contributed significantly to various research projects addressing air, soil, and water pollution, climate change, and public health risks. Her work has been published in renowned international journals, showcasing her findings on heavy metal pollution, groundwater contamination, and the impact of coal thermal power plants.
In addition to her academic and research achievements, Dr. Vig has been recognized with several awards, including Best Oral Presentation for her research on heavy metal pollution. A gold medalist in her Diploma and a recipient of multiple academic honors, she continues to excel in her mission to foster impactful learning and drive sustainable solutions through her work.
