Esther Abosede Ogbonnaya, born on April 15, 1962, in Nigeria, has dedicated her life to service, education, and empowering others. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the Nigerian Navy and continued commitment to education post-retirement, Esther’s journey is marked by resilience, determination, and a passion for making a difference.
Education has been a cornerstone of Esther’s life. She earned her Ph.D. in Library & Information Science, further solidifying her expertise in the field. Prior to this, she obtained a Master’s degree in Library, Information, and Archival Studies, demonstrating her commitment to advancing her knowledge and skills. Esther’s educational journey also includes a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, showcasing her diverse interests and expertise.
Esther’s professional career flourished within the Nigerian Navy, where she served as an Instructor, Coach, Trainer, Researcher, and Educator for an impressive 32 years. Rising through the ranks, Esther retired at the esteemed rank of Commodore, leaving an indelible mark on the institution and the individuals she mentored and trained.
Retiring from the Nigerian Navy on April 15, 2017, Esther’s dedication to education and empowerment did not waver. She seamlessly transitioned into her present role as a Facilitator, Postgraduate Project Research Supervisor, and Teaching Practice Supervisor at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) Mushin Study Centre, Lagos. Here, she continues to inspire and guide the next generation of scholars, imparting knowledge and fostering academic excellence.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Esther finds joy in various hobbies. She is an avid traveler, exploring new cultures and experiences around the globe. Her love for reading fuels her continuous quest for knowledge and personal growth. Additionally, Esther channels her compassion and empathy into mentoring vulnerable and traumatized young adults, particularly females, offering them guidance and support to navigate life’s challenges.
