Dr. P. Shahanaz is an academic with over 26 years of experience in teaching and educational leadership. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Rayalaseema University, along with M.Phil., M.A., and B.Ed. degrees in English and Social Studies. Currently serving as the Head of the Department of English at St. Joseph’s Degree College, Kurnool, she has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students and previously worked with institutions such as Visu Consultancy and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University.
Her research spans literature, linguistics, and history, with a strong focus on marginalized voices in Indian literature. She has published several scholarly articles, notably on Mahasweta Devi’s works, exploring themes of social activism and oppression. As a co-author of the textbook “A Course in Reading and Writing Skills”, she has contributed to curriculum development for degree students in Andhra Pradesh.
Dr. Shahanaz also serves as the Nodal Officer for the Youth Red Cross Society, organizing annual blood donation camps and supporting community health initiatives. Her academic influence extends to doctoral research, having adjudicated Ph.D. theses and served as an external examiner. Her career reflects a deep commitment to education, social responsibility, and literary scholarship.
