A COREN-registered chemical engineer with over 25 years in FPSO, offshore and onshore oil and gas production operations, maintenance and personnel management, Esitikot is a professor of occupational safety and health at Highstone Global University, Texas, USA. An erudite scholar and researcher, Professor Esitikot has delivered several technical papers to enhance knowledge transfer and made significant contributions towards human capacity development. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering from Rivers State University, Port Harcourt and a Master’s degree in Health, Safety and Risk Management from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland. He also holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Walden University, USA, a program he graduated with a CGPA of 3.9 on a scale of 4.0. Professor Esitikot has earned several professional certifications such as NEBOSH International general certificate in occupational health and safety, Certified Management Specialist with distinction in time management from London Graduate School and a certificate of proficiency in oil and gas operations from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Canada. Currently working as a management staff in a multinational oil and gas company, he is a member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers and Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers. He is also a Fellow of the Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Risk Management Institute. a Fellow of Nigeria Institution of Safety Engineers, a Fellow of Safety and Emergency Response Ready Global Institute, a Fellow of Institute of Management Consultants, a certified member of the UK-based Institute of Occupational Health and Safety, a World Safety Organization Safety Ambassador, a registered management consultant, and a member of and trainer for the institute of safety professionals of Nigeria. Currently, he volunteers as a lecturer in the Institute of Health, Safety, Security and Environment Studies, University of Uyo, Nigeria. Professor (Engr.) Esitikot is a newspaper columnist to Port Harcourt-based Today’s News Now (TNN) newspaper and Uyo-based The Ink newspaper. He is the author of Reflection for Today, a daily social media-based (Facebook: @Esangubong Esitikot, LinkedIn: @Esang Esitikot) inspirational message to enhance human capacity and inspire actualization of hidden talents for productive and fulfilled life. He is happily married to Deborah Esitikot and the relationship is blessed with children. He enjoys teaching, motivating youths, counselling couples and analyzing issues that affect the public.
