Dr. Romel U. Rellon is a distinguished figure in the field of Library and Information Science, known for his significant contributions to academia and professional organizations in the Philippines. He earned both his Baccalaureate and Master’s Degrees in Library and Information Science from Cagayan De Oro.
Throughout his career, Dr. Rellon has held numerous leadership positions. During his college years, he demonstrated early leadership potential as the president of his student organization, a role he reprised in graduate school when he was again elected president. Professionally, he served for several years as the President of the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) – Region 10, advocating for advancements within the library community. Within his institution, he was a former Faculty-Staff President and rose through the ranks to become the Vice-President for Academic Affairs. He currently serves as the College Dean of his institution, where he continues to shape educational policies and programs.
Beyond his administrative roles, Dr. Rellon is a prolific scholar. He has authored several research articles and books, enriching the body of knowledge within the Librarianship profession. His work reflects a deep commitment to the field and a dedication to sharing his expertise with future generations of librarians.
