Prof. Shilpa Khatri Babbar currently serves as the ICCR Chair of Indian Studies at the University of Iceland. A sociologist by profession, she completed her post-graduation, M.Phil., and Ph.D. at the Delhi School of Economics, a premier institution for higher studies in social sciences in India. Prior to her appointment as the Chair of Indian Studies, she worked as a professor and served as the Director of Academic Excellence at the Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. Her research primarily focuses on Indian Knowledge System, Culture and Society, Social inclusion/exclusion, and stigma.
