Dr Simon Shachia Oryila is a lecturer in the Department of English Language and Literature, Benue State University, Makurdi. His significant teaching and research interests include Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, writing, editing and publishing. A published author, he has worked as a consultant to the Centre for Democracy and Development West Africa on ethnicity, religion, violent extremism and human security. He has reviewed dozens of books at public book presentations and, through his Writers & Editors Kitchen, edited countless academic and literary works. He is a member of professional associations and societies, including the Society for Research and Academic Excellence, the English Scholars’ Association of Nigeria (ESAN), the Gbaga Legion Home of Poets and the Association of Nigerian Authors.
