Biography
Dr. Uju Cecilia Onuchukwu is a Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Nigeria, where she has served on the faculty since 2020. She earned her Ph.D. in Public Relations and Advertising from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, following a Master of Science in Mass Communication from the National Open University of Nigeria and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Dr. Onuchukwu actively contributes to communication scholarship and professional advocacy through her active memberships in prominent industry organizations, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the African Council for Communication Education (ACCE), and the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN).Specializing in digital public relations, strategic advertising, artificial intelligence in communication, new media dynamics, and health communication, Dr. Onuchukwu maintains a strong research footprint focused on modern communication technology in West Africa. Her recent scholarly work interrogates critical issues at the intersection of tech and society, such as customer adoption and challenges surrounding AI chatbots in regional banking, Big Tech content warning policies, peer networking strategies for substance abuse prevention, and the media’s role in public health communication. A regular presenter at international academic conferences across Africa, her empirical studies are published across peer-reviewed platforms, including the International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Sciences and the International Sophia Journal of Arts and Social Sciences.
