PROFILE OF PROFESSOR YOHANNA G. JUGU PhD, FCA, CFA, FCCrFA Jugu Yohanna Gyang was born on May 23, 1968, in Jos Plateau State. He is a Professor of Forensic Accounting and Auditing with the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Jos. He is a Specialist in Financial accounting, Forensic Accounting, and auditing. Jugu went to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, where he obtained a Ph.D in Accountancy in 2013, after obtaining his first and second degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Jos in 2001 and 2007, respectively. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) and a Certified Forensic Accountant (CFA) of the same Institute. He is also a Fellow Certified Forensic Accountant (FCCrFA) of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria. He has acquired vast working experience in the area of accounting practices and accounting academic activities when working with the following organisations: i. These include: University of Jos, Nigeria (2005 – Date), Kwararafa University, Wukari – Nigeria (2009 – 2011), Plateau State University, Bokkos – Nigeria (2012 – Date), College of Education, Pankshin – Nigeria (2015 – 2019), and Karl Kumn University Vom, Plateau State – Nigeria. Some of the courses taught in these institutions include Principles of Accounting, Principles of Finance, Introduction to Actuarial Science, Principles of Taxation, Research Methodology, Forensic Accounting & Investigation Advanced Corporate Finance, Advanced Portfolio Theory, Seminar, etc. There is no doubt that Jugu is a season academic, with 20 years of research, teaching, and community service experience. He has served as a resource person and discussant of many workshops and seminars. He has 50 publications in circulation to his credit and has attended many international academic and professional conferences. He has also served as a reviewer for many local and international journals. Professor Jugu is happily married with four children.
