I am working as an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Prior to joining, I worked postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Forest Biomaterials, NC State University, USA. I completed my Ph.D. form the same department where my research focused on the chemical modification of cellulose and nanocellulose for tissue, paper towel, packaging, and hygiene products applications. I have experience on functionalization of different virgin and recycled pulps for various sustainable applications and characterization of numerous properties, such as, tensile and mechanical properties, oil and grease barrier properties, burst, oxygen and water vapor permeability, bulk and softness of tissue papers, weathering and biodegradability.
