Web of Science ResearcherID: OLR-8720-2025 Faculty/Departmental profile I am David Chinonso Anih, Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry at Federal University Wukari. As an academic, teacher and researcher I am committed to developing student potential, driving applied research, and serving my department and community with integrity and purpose. This personal profile summarises how I shape teaching, research and service to advance biochemistry education and address local and regional challenges in nutrition, food safety and environmental health. My mission My mission is to deliver high-quality, student-centred teaching and hands-on laboratory training while advancing translational research that responds to real-world problems in human nutrition, food safety and environmental health. I aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the workplace and as future researchers. My vision I envision a Department of Biochemistry recognised across Nigeria and West Africa for excellence in education and research—one that produces graduates who improve human and ecosystem health through rigorous, evidence-based biochemical science and community-focused solutions. My core objectives 1. Design and deliver a modern curriculum that blends strong theoretical foundations with practical laboratory experience so graduates are research capable and workplace ready. 2. Lead and support rigorous research in priority areas including nutritional biochemistry, food contaminants and toxicology, molecular biology and bioremediation. 3. Translate research into practical interventions and partnerships with communities, industry and public health stakeholders, prioritising food safety and environmental remediation. 4. Strengthen staff and student capacity through continuous professional development, postgraduate training and national and international collaborations. 5. Champion quality assurance, accreditation compliance and transparent academic governance to promote sustainable departmental growth and accountability.
