Personal Statement

An Educator by profession with 12 years teaching experience. Have taught at the various levels of pre-tertiary education in Ghana. The levels include Primary School, Junior High School and now a Geography Tutor at Nsaba Presbyterian Senior High School with a remarkable record of providing effective teaching and learning environment. An excellent team player, very reliable, self-motivated, independent minded and principled.

My philosophy of teaching is to provide all learners, irrespective of their social, cultural, linguistic and ethnic background, with the opportunity to acquire knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that would enable them to progress through school and contribute meaningfully to their society. This emanates from my experience as a classroom teacher and interactions I have had with the less endowed students in my career as a teacher.

I believe in learning-centered and lifelong learning approaches in teaching. My research interest and publication are on medical geography, population, environment and development, resource analysis, Geography pedagogy and instruction, teacher education, research methods, GIS, gender and contemporary issues in Africa.
