Mr. Mahamudul Haque is a Faculty Member at the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur, Bangladesh. He obtained first class and first position with record marks in MSS examination in the department since its inception. He worked for UNB, a national news agency, and The Daily Star, a leading English daily of the country, for over 15 years in various capacities of journalism.
Alongside doing journalism, Mr. Haque worked as a full-time researcher at two media research institutes for about 10 years. As a resource person, he conducted several training sessions and presented several research papers at international conferences in Thailand, India, Indonesia, Canada, USA, and Bangladesh.
He is the author of a book titled ‘Sangbadikata: Offline Online’ (Journalism Offline Online), published by KI Publishers and his several articles have been published in ISSN journals. At least 30 post-editorials, book reviews and reports written by him also have been published in leading dailies, including The Daily Star and Prothom Alo.
As a policy research consultant, Mahamudul Haque worked for UNDP, Bangladesh, Safety and Rights Society, Community Development Association (CDA), British Council and led several research projects.
He worked as the Chief Consultant of a project on UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP-BHR) in Bangladesh from January 2018-December 2018. Later, Mr. Haque worked for UNDP, Bangladesh as its National Consultant – UNGP-BHR.
