I was born and brought up in a middleclass family that had always placed a great value for education. From my childhood days, I was very much interested in science subjects. This interest led me to select Physics, Chemistry, and Combined Mathematics as my major subjects at the High School. Based on a very competitive entrance examination, I was admitted to Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology at Vavuniya Campus of the University of Jaffna. I have done my undergraduate research project on “Decision Support System for Solid Waste Management” for Vavuniya Urban Council for a period of six months under the Supervision of Dr. S. Kanaganathan.
After completing my undergraduate, I got the Turkish Government Scholarship to follow my master’s degree in Computer Engineering at Ankara University, Turkey. I did my master thesis under the title of “Privacy preserving k-nn Spatial Interpolation Method” which was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bulent Tugrul. Outcome of the research were published in indexed journals under the title of “Privacy-Preserving K-Nearest Neighbour Interpolation Method in an Outsourced Environment” and “Outsourcing of Secure k-Nearest Neighbours Interpolation Method”.
