Smith was a lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department at Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy. His teaching areas were transportation engineering, transport planning, public transportation, network systems, and multimodal transportation systems. His current research areas are on multimodal transport resilience and traffic intersection control.
Smith earned a master’s degree in civil engineering (transportation engineering) from Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, USA. During that time, he worked as a college aide for the New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) from May 2018 to August 2020. At NYCDOT, he designed several road markings and bicycle networks in Queens area. The designs provided a safer environment for bicyclists, drivers, and pedestrians. The projects are also conducted under Vision Zero and the NACTO Urban Street Design Guide.
Currently, Smith is a doctoral student in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is looking forward to contributing to the better world.
