Professor Kavitha Karthikeyan is a Civil Engineering professional with her credentials of First class with distinction in B.E. and University gold medallist in her M.Tech degree. She is currently doing her innovative idea as research in VIT University, Chennai campus. She hails from a simple family, her father educated her well, her husband enhanced her career growth and now she has groomed into an educational professional with 18 years of experience in teaching and research. She has served in well reputed organisation like DHAN Foundation, Madurai, VIT University, Vellore, IIT Madras, Chennai and currently she is serving at Prince Shri Venkateshwara Padmavathy Engineering College, Chennai. She received AICTE’s Lilavati award 2021-22, for women empowerment on 8th March 2022 at New Delhi and was announced as “First runner” under the theme “Technology for women” for which Prince group of institutions played a key role in guiding and supporting her. She has filed about 8+ patents and has contributed for scouting innovative ideas in her institution. She is recognized as The Best Innovation Ambassador in Southern Region during the MoEs Innovation Cell Regional meeting held at Chennai on 21st July 2022. She has visited to University College, London for presenting her innovative theme in Agriculture Disease Mitigation System. She has attended various international conferences and participated by presenting her ideas and received best paper award for her innovative works. She has done extensive research work on innovative concrete using, talipot seeds, waste paper sludge, construction and demolition waste, light transmission in concrete, geopolymer concrete, etc. She published more than 10 papers in reputed peer reviewed journals and conferences at international and National levels. She is a member of various professional bodies such as ISTE, Indian Association of Hydrologists (IAH), Indian Water Resources Society (IWRS), Solar Energy Society of India (SESI), etc. Ms Kavitha Karthikeyan has a strong passion for innovations and she has been involved in motivating students and faculty towards smart work, leadership skills, creative thinking, entrepreneurship, etc. She is also an entrepreneur, managing a startup in financial services. She has a strong passion to motivate students towards entrepreneurship.
