I am a dedicated Ph.D. student in Gerontology at the University of Massachusetts Boston, where my research focuses on mental health, PTSD, dementia, and retirement in later life. I hold a Master of Arts in Gerontology from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. Over the years, I’ve served in various professional roles, including Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant, Social Development Officer in Ghana’s Local Government, and Case Manager Intern at an Area Agency on Aging. My work centers on the intersection of aging, public health, and social policy, and I am currently conducting research on the impact of depression on early retirement among older adults in the U.S. I actively participate in several professional organizations, such as the Gerontological Society of America and the American Society on Aging, and I have been honored with multiple academic awards and conference scholarships in recognition of my contributions to the field. I am deeply passionate about enhancing the well-being of older adults through research-informed policy, education, and meaningful community engagement.
