Rose Walubengo born in 1982, grew up as the second born of six siblings (3 boys and 3 girls) in the rural part of Western Kenya-Kakamega county, Malava subcounty. Her parents who were and are still Farmers loved education and Rose took advantage of the same.
As a daughter of Farmers, Rose was not that exposed since she only knew about the local school around, the farm and her nuclear family, she hadn’t learned self awareness until years later. Thanks to her uncle Antony, who exposed her to Egerton University.
In 2007, she met a man called Estone and got married in 2009, they are blessed with three sons.
As Human Resource Specialist with over 8 years of experience in Human Resource management. Rose is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management and the Kenya Institute of Management. She has a wealth of knowledge in human resource management processes and commands excellence in human resource management practices.
She has been a trainer since 2014 with various institutions of higher learning (Egerton University and JKUAT). She is a holder of MHRM (Human Resource Management) and a B.A, Human Resource. She also possesses strategic management and leadership, Customer Care and supervisory skills, courtesy of the Kenya Institute of Management. She has also been trained by the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) in Basic Kenyan Sign Language.
She has been a human resource and personnel specialist, (thanks to the institute of Human Resource Professionals) contracted by Egerton SACCO, Wakarimu SACCO, the Coffee Research Foundation SACCO (Jacaranda) and Bukhungu SACCO since 2017 in different contract assignments involving formulation of HR policies, recruitment and selection and performing employee appraisals, and trainings encompassing, employee health and safety, motivation and team building.
Her skills have been enhanced through trainings in human resource by the Institute of Human Resource Management, as well as through online pedagogical trainings (PEDAL). She is a lecturer in the department of Human Resource at the Kenya Institute of Management since 2018 where she lectures in human resource management and related courses (entrepreneurship, practice of management and business studies) and their application in the business world. She is also involved in various trainings under certification programs at the institute covering Change Management, Groups and Teams, Stress Management, Delegation and Effective Leadership and Time Management (Supervisory Skills Development, SSD); Strategy and Structure, Strategic Leadership and Performance Management (Strategic Management and Leadership, CSML).
Rose has had interest in social community programs and has trained in Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) at Egerton University. She is actively involved in PRA fieldwork activities and rural community development action plans, all that entail training participants on theoretical and practical participatory rural appraisals. Rose is also involved in student motivation, career guidance and counselling, which she started in 2015.
