Biography
Zainab Oyinkansola Akinsemoyin is a geospatial data and information management professional with strong expertise in GIS, data analytics, and spatial modeling. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Data and Information Management at Radford University and holds a Master’s degree in Applied Geography from Georgia Southern University, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Her professional experience includes roles as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and GIS Analyst, where she has worked extensively on database systems, spatial data processing, and geospatial application development. She has contributed to projects in flood risk assessment, infrastructure analysis, and environmental monitoring using tools such as ArcGIS, Python, SQL, and remote sensing technologies. Zainab has worked with organizations in the United States and Nigeria, including Ikeja Electric and Polaris Digitech Limited, where she supported large-scale geospatial data management and analytics. Her research interests include flood modeling, machine learning applications in geospatial science, and urban resilience, and she has co-authored multiple publications in international journals focusing on environmental risk and spatial analytics.
